Problem: – We are living in a world that seems to be increasingly evil, increasingly declining, increasingly more and more against the moral foundations that are laid out in scripture.
Problem: – We have a society and culture that seems to be content to spend its time, capital, resources, and efforts on the satisfaction of self.
Problem: – We have only occasionally experienced the power of the Holy Spirit to make things new in our own lives and the lives of those around us. Mostly, we feel that we are left to ourselves to be transformed and to transform those around us. We cycle through either shame at not doing enough or pride at how well we have done.
Problem: – It appears that certain types of churches are successful numerically and financially. Huge crowds of passionate people with wealthy, successful-looking pastors leading them to strategically attract more and more devotees.
Reality: – What the church in America and Europe have been doing is failing. Whatever measure needs to be applied to the effectiveness of the congregations in the Western Church should result in a sub-par grade, and in many cases such a failing grade that it doesn’t register. No matter what we think we see that we may call success in the church, the resulting beliefs and behaviors of those that would self-identify as Christian does not square with Orthodox, Biblical truth. Instead, we have millions of people with a form of religious identification and no fruit to show for it. If truth be told, because of this lack of effectiveness, identification with the church is now seen as a negative in many parts of the Western world.
Assumption: – There will quickly be upon us in the Western an existential challenge to our way of living and governing, so as to possibly tear apart the very fibers of our culture and foundations. We already have seen evidence of this beginning and have heard hundreds of voices decrying it, or welcoming it, or strategizing about it, or trying to take advantage of it.
Corollary to the Assumption: – This existential crisis does not have to be a bad thing for The Kingdom. The coming difficulty and the current malaise will uncover a bankruptcy in the solutions of today’s culture and institutions. This bankruptcy is an opportunity for true currency, with real value, to be offered to the World.
Reality: – If every person who identified themselves as Christian were to lead 2 people to The Father over the next five years and train them up to follow the Lordship of The Son, in the power of The Holy Spirit, and this discipleship was even partially effective, the entire World would be reached within 100 years. It is a mathematical reality based on the number of self-identifying Christians.
So: – How do we get there? How do we stop this merry-go-round of seemingly endless fads of successful churches, only to see those movements and churches dead within 100 years, with very little long-term Kingdom impact? How do we instead join together to finally accomplish Jesus’ great commission and be a part, albeit tiny part, of the establishment of The Kingdom of God?
The solution is so simple, yet so costly. The answers are not complex, but they do require everything from you. The hope is that you will finally end each day both exhausted AND refreshed. That you will no longer live for yourself, but for The One who is worthy of all praise, glory, and honor. That in doing so, you might finally walk in the planned-for design that The Father had for you and saw in you when you were formed in your mother’s womb.
What to do? Is it possible that the answers have been in front of us for thousands of years and we’ve lost our way? The path was right there, just out of our view and it is still there? Is it possible that a few minor, yet profound adjustments in our worldview and the paradigms of our faith could put us on a path to seeing the expansion and power of The Kingdom in our generation and the generations to come? – YES! It is not only possible, but it is also essential, and God is calling you to become a part of it.
So – ask yourself: Do I want to continue to be a part of what is not working and seems to be losing ground against the onslaught of culture and Godlessness? Do I want to spend the rest of my life on myself? Do I want my friends, my children, and my grandchildren to be left with a world that is less than what it could be? By all means, NO! With all of the do-gooder causes that you can give your life to, that make a little slice of the world a better place, but don’t systemically transform lives, what if you had a chance to be a part of something that changed your world, and the world to come for all of those around you? What if you knew that before you were an opportunity to BE the one you were made to be? And, that you, in being that one, can become part of the changing of history?
Let’s Roll: – Watch the next few days and weeks as we unpack the current state of affairs, and what glorious prescriptions The Father has for His creation. Come, be a part of the redemption that The Father is doing.
